6 Reasons Why Drupal Remains a Leading CMS in 2021

6 Reasons Why Drupal Remains a Leading CMS in 2021

Do you know Drupal and Wordpress? Drupal often gets compared with WordPress. Both allow you to quickly customize and innovate upon a solid pre-existing framework, open-source code, and modules, with access to countless tools and information free of charge to help you get the right features, functionality, and design. But in 2021 Drupal is become a trend of developer and software development company.

6 reason why drupal remains a leading cms in 2021

Reason 1: Drupal is a Proper Web Experience Management System

This is because the Drupal CMS has made a point of being a flexible platform that performs more like a web experience management system – giving you the ability to integrate your favorite customer relationship management (CRM) software, such as Salesforce, or inbound marketing platforms into your website.

This is why Drupal is a clear choice for organizations that want to seamlessly integrate your preferred third-party technology with your website.

Reason 2: How Drupal Leads in User Experience

There are several built-in and contributed modules that supercharge Drupal, making it the best choice among content management systems for these reasons:

  • WYSIWYG editor – a much-appreciated feature that allows users to sneak a peek at how the text and images they’ve entered into the text editor will look before pushing the “publish” button.
  • Multilingual functionality – these features are built right into Drupal 8 core and give you the power to translate your site or have the language displayed on your website shift depending on the user’s geographic location.
  • Quick Edit – type directly into a text editor in Drupal to cut down on the time required for adding and uploading content to your website.
  • Personalization – give your users the experience that’s right for them using one of several content personalization modules for Drupal, including Personalization Module, Browsing History Recommender, Commerce Recommender, and Context-Menu Block.
  • Enhanced caching capabilities – Drupal leads in terms of page loading efficiency and speed thanks to BigPipe and other caching optimization modules.
  • Options and flexibility - There is more than one way to create excellent user experiences in Drupal. Some situations require the utmost flexibility, like flexible landing pages for specific marketing campaigns, while others require more uniform control

Reason 3: Drupal Integrates Well With Popular Marketing Tools

Organizations are looking for dynamic content across many digital touch-points (omnichannel), therefore they need a web CMS that stays in step with new sales and customer engagement technologies.
The Google Analytics module allows you to collect all-important customer data and make adjustments to optimize how well your Drupal site speaks to and engages your target market.

Reason 4: Drupal Is Highly Extensible via APIs

  • Drupal’s API, querying, GraphQL, and microservices models make it easy to mold to almost any architecture with tools and features that improve the experience of both customers, admins, and developers.
  • The releases of Drupal 8 and 9 have heralded several such APIs:
  • The RESTful Web Services API in Drupal 8 supports a decoupled Drupal site; the communication between native mobile iOS/Android apps and a Drupal site; and, integration with web services.
  • JSON:API module allows serialization and communication via JSON.
  • Render API enhances the user experience through faster page rendering, and better caching protocols.
  • Drupal 8’s Translation API can adjust language on your website depending on where your viewer lives.

Reason 5: Drupal is Great for SEO: Leading Tools for Metadata and Taxonomy

Another key asset for modern, SEO-friendly websites is having a flexible and intuitive taxonomy system. Drupal’s built-in taxonomy system is designed to simplify how you organize your content, with the help of keywords.

Drupal’s Metatags module also allows you to shape how your content appears on social media sites with such APIs as Twitter Cards for Twitter and Facebook’s Open Graph protocol, giving you the ability to share consistent messages across platforms.

Reason 6: A Powerful Tool: Drupal Improves With Experience

As you can see in the image below that we snapped at DrupalCon Europe with the creator of Drupal, Dries Buytaert, research shows that, like a fine wine, a user's opinion of Drupal improves with experience. It is a very powerful tool, and with great power comes...a complexity-usability tradeoff, at least for beginne

2 Powerful Techniques for Game quality Analysis

2 Powerful Techniques for Game quality Analysis

Game design and development studio offer an array of services. The success of a game depends on multiple factors ranging from application design, level design, texturing, modeling, animation and game overall design. But the most important factors which help improve scalability and sales of the game are user interface and user experience.

Games are essentially a digital product which will be placed in the market for sales. So analyzing games for quality, user experience, and user-friendliness is a vital process. Game quality analysis from a game developer perspective is quite different from a blog review.

It should be critique in nature, rather than a review. The goal of the game analysis is to highlight and rationalize the aspects that make the game worth studying and contribute to improvements.

A very popular book on marketing (Kotler, 1993) states that “A good product is one that satisfies customer’s needs, preferences, and expectations”.

2 Powerful Game Analysis Techniques by a Game Developer

1. GamePlay

The specific way in which players interact with the game. It is basically a pattern defined through the rules of the game, the connection between the players, challenges or levels, and overcoming them, story or plot, and players connection with it.

How it should be analyzed

  • Play the Game Extensively – Familiarizing yourself with the game by playing and replaying, again and again, brings new insights about the game. You will be able to analyze the level of difficulty and elements you have used.
  • List Your Analysis While Playing – While playing take notes of the things which are against user-friendliness, and need improvements. List out the thing which you don’t like, things which were unexpected games relevancy with other available games, etc.
  • Cheat Codes and Walk-thoughts – Use cheat codes and walkthrough videos to understand the plot and relations.

2. Game Mechanics

Game mechanics is the relationships of different game elements like agents, objects, with the game. All together game mechanics defines the set of rules which works behind the scene. All of these together defines the game as a rule-based system, specifying what there is, how things are behaving and how a player can interact with the game world.

How it should be analyzed

Hence as a game developer, it is necessary to analyze the game mechanics which involves virtual items in the game.
  • Gameworld rules – Different models the game tries to simulate, how the game world reacts to the rules of the game. Identify possibilities and impossible elements or action of the game.
  • Simulation and Levels of Abstraction – What level of abstraction is the game using? How complex is the simulation, depending on that level of abstraction?
  • Game mechanics and resulting dynamics – Is all the possible strategies are being considered by game designer or developer? Or they have missed some more possible strategies. List the strategies which are possibly missed by the game developer.
  • Difficulty levels and game balancing – How the game evolve from simpler to more difficult levels? How the difficulties are introduced one at a level on each level, does the game itself educates the player how to play or not. Does the game offers a tutorial to educate the gamers and if yes? then how effective it is.
  • Control schemes; control peripherals – It is very important to analyze how players are interacting with the games i.e., through typing in the commands or using a mouse or game controlling devices for it. Are there different ways to configure your controls?
  • Audio-visual and graphic elements – Does the audio-video elements complement to the fiction of the game or not. Should have relevant visuals and graphics to support the game story.
  • Game Emergence – Is there any room for improvements for emergent gameplay or the game has specific sequences and guide the player to correct their actions. Or does it allow the player to experiment around to progress in the game?

Consider the above technique to analyze your next game for quality and improve games performance in terms of user-interaction and user-friendliness. So that your audience have fun playing with the game

5 Best augmented reality Games

5 Best augmented reality Games

Can augmented reality take over the gaming world? It seems like augmented reality has already established itself as a primary satisfaction source for gamers. Though the application of AR can vary and there are a lot of amazing applications of modern augmented reality outside gaming, we will solely be focusing on the top 5 best-augmented reality games in this article.

Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go was probably the biggest game of 2016 even if we take out the fact that this game was heavily dependent on augmented reality. Pokemon already had a loyal support base for a long time and when the company partnered with Nintendo to launch this game, the gaming world saw a huge storm. Pokemon Go has quickly become a culture instead of just being a game and this game was able to take people out of their homes to ‘catch Pokemon characters’.

In case if you are not familiar with the gaming experience, the idea was very simple. You had to download the Pokemon Go app and with the help of the app on your cellphone, you had to catch Pokemon characters. The game was initially launched in North America and it very quickly became popular in other parts of the world. The best part about this game was the fact that you didn’t have to use any special AR device to enjoy the experience.

Some might debate on the fact that Pokemon Go is not a pure AR experience, however, it was the first exposure towards the AR world and is a massive success.

House of the Dying Sun

The next game in our list would be House of the Dying Sun without any doubt. If you are looking for a perfect augmented reality experience, it could not get much better than this. You will this game in a space environment where you will sit inside a cockpit to fight against enemies.

You will especially enjoy this game if you have been a fan of Star Wars but the game is interesting for anyone out there.

This game is actually a combination of augmented reality and virtual reality. If you can incorporate a VR gaming box within your gameplay, it would be a much better experience for you than someone only playing the augmented version of it.

Batman Arkham VR

You are a liar if you never, at some point in your life, put on a black cape and a masquerade mask to play Batman. Well, the good news is that you don’t have to pretend to be Batman behind closed doors anymore. You can very much the savior of Gotham for real, all thanks to the smashing Batman Arkham VR!

Developed and produced by the Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros in 2016, the Batman Arkham VR is hands down one of the best-augmented reality games out there. This gem of a game is specifically for the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows for all those die-hard Batman fans out there. Part of what makes this AR game so special is that it isn’t your typical combat and fight-or-die sort of game. It focuses more on the psychological aspect of solving puzzles, connecting links and pretty much testing your inner Bruce Wayne. Speaking of which, you play as a first-person perspective where you will, of course, be role-playing for Bruce Wayne, AKA, the Batman. The entire game goes by the classic Batman plot which all of us are more than familiar with.

However, there are certain deviations and surprises in the plot that really get does manage to blow your mind away. In conjunction with the amazing graphics, eerily crisp audio and massive attention to detail, the Batman Arkham VR is going to send shivers down your spine... .at least when the Joker comes into the scene!

Elite: Dangerous

If there any game that could serve as the textbook definition of the ideal AR game, the Elite: Dangerous would undoubtedly win the title. If you seek thrill, adrenaline, combat, and a whole of intergalactic and space action, then Elite: Dangerous is right up your alley.

Elite: Dangerous was 5 Best Augmented Reality Games sometime early in 2016 and has become a hit among players ever since. This game supports virtual reality devices, including the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift among many other gaming devices and consoles. The game has you controlling and delegating all the in and out of your Spaceship with your team. Speaking of team, one of the things that make Elite so engaging is that it is an interactive game in all true sense.

It is multiplayer so you play with your arsenal and team. One thing very unique to Elite: Dangerous is that it very high-drama for a game. You never know what happens next. And that unpredictability of the game, for us, is the best part of the entire thing. There is a lot of teamwork and calculative moves involved that closely tests your skills as a player and a leader. An action-packed storyline that really keeps you on your toes!

Zombies, Run!

Ahh yes, the age-old video game classic: zombies. Most zombie games tend to run and operate on the same old, repetitive and boring storyline of gory, brain-dead humans coming at you for your brains. But Zombie, Run! is different.

Zombie, Run! Is a mobile augmented reality game developed and published in 2012 by Six to Start and Naomi Alderman for iOS and Android platforms with one thing in mind: to get you running. This “game” is nowhere close you your generic on-couch games. If anything at all, in order to play, you must get on your feet and start running for your lives to save yourself from the zombies! We are particularly amazed by the storyline which is so simple and yet so fun and addictive. You basically have a mission to run/walk/jog to a certain distance of up till a certain time to collect and gather survival supplies to build up your base against the Zombies.

Zombies, Run! goes to show that not all AR games need to get you into your competitive mode. It is a refreshing deviation from all your standard zombie games, and AR games in general. If AR games mean more to you than sitting on your couch and cursing at the screen, then you definitely appreciate Zombies, Run!

Top 5 Drawing Games You Can Play Online

Top 5 Drawing Games You Can Play Online

I have never been a huge artist myself, I prefer writing more than I do drawing, but there are times when you want to doodle something up, and perhaps paper and pencils are not at your disposal at that given moment, the next best option – online drawing games.

I’ve played around with these myself over the course of a couple of years, while many of them have been developed to meet the current web standards, a few might look a little older, and take a more classical approach.

Everyone knows the benefits of creativity, the creative expression and the creative passion which fuels our brains with the natural high that some of us tend to call ‘life’. Drawing is a beautiful art-form, we can encapsulate and transfer whatever that it is in our minds, onto an piece of paper. Or in this case, a drawing game that’s accessible online.

Be it real, fake, imaginary or given to you by someone else, the inspiration for drawing is to be found all around us. Some of these games will inspire you to think of drawing in completely new ways, just like they did for me. I hope you’ll enjoy, and don’t forget to post your own favorite games in the comment section below the post!

Agame

I have known these guys for a while now. They aren’t a really big company or anything, medium-sized with a reasonable community size. What I like about their platform is that it’s smooth, and it provides a decent variety of drawing games that I can access instantly, whenever I want. Many of the games on this site are traditional point and draw a line type of games, but some are interesting enough to spark your creative juices.

Draw Something Online

Now, this is more of something that I’d be after if I was looking for decent quality online drawing games. I think that a lot of people are already aware of this type of a game, where a few people join together in a match and then draw whatever word they pick from the given words list.

The other player(s) have to guess what you’re trying to draw. It’s not just about points either, it’s all about learning to draw things from your own creativity, not to mention trying to guess others work. Fun, entertaining and free to play.

I think if you register, some of the time limits are taken away.

Guess-a-Sketch

Guess-a-Sketch is an online multiplayer game of drawing and guessing. One person draws a randomly selected word (or phrase) and the rest try to guess it. The winner is the first to 100 points.

You could say that this, and the above games are exactly the same, and while that is true, I’ve found that Guess-a-Sketch offers a little more excitement to their chat rooms, I think it’s because of the type of a community that plays the game on that particular website.

It has specific rooms that are meant for both inexperienced, and more experienced players. The difference is in the difficulty of words, beginners get easy words, while advanced players are given more strategic words. It’s all fun at the end of the day.

Sketch & Paint!

I love this, the technology they use to power the drawing features is magnificent, and it really emphasizes the reality of drawing. It’s like drawing a painting in real life, if you can accommodate for the fact that you’re painting on an online website, that is. It’s hard to put it in words, so please check out the functionality of this drawing ‘game’, it’s lovely.

Draw a Stickman

Draw a stickman and then guide him through a fantastic world where you have complete creative freedom. Using an assortment of pencils, draw elements, tools, and weapons to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. Draw a Stickman Epic combines adventure, puzzle, action, and creative thinking, like no game you’ve ever played before!
I remember the launch of this, it was so much fun and the feeling was like something I’d never have experienced before, definitely a nice and creative take on the online drawing technology. As the above quote explains, it’s a game where you draw things that end up building a story of sorts. Fun to do while waiting on a train, bus or whatever.

Drawing Games You Can Play Online

That’s about it for my personal collection of online drawing games, I hope that some of these were new to you, and while one of these is not exactly a ‘game’, it’s still a fun way of playing with your creativity, or just passing some time quickly.
The Average Video Game Designer Salary

The Average Video Game Designer Salary

The gaming industry is taking some serious hits in the past couple of years, I would assume that the majority of the concern is being put on mobile devices, considering how accessible they make ‘gaming’. Every real game designer knows, real gaming happens on a high-end personal computer, nowhere else.

I’m in no position to advise for the current state of the gaming industry, at least not at large I’m not, but this recently published blog post by Raph Koper was very interesting, and even entertaining to read and observe. I think you’ll love one of the graphs that shows how publishers are treating game developers.

In this post, I’d like to focus on the salary of professional game designers who’d like to work for companies like Epic, Blizzard, Sony, Nintendo and many more. It would be hard to predict the salary of indie game developers, or mobile game developers, simply because the market structure is different.

You can see that the average salary is roughly $98,000 – which really, isn’t all that bad. But, if we take into account the fact that some experience is necessary in order to jump up that high, we should expect anything in the $80,000 range as a junior game designer. I don’t think that is bad, in fact, it’s wonderful.

The reason I think it is wonderful, is because we can learn to become a game designer at the comfort of our own homes. It’s 2014, and the open world learning has never been as accessible. We’ve got communities like Hacker News, Reddit, and many more specific gaming communities that help us begin learning game design at the comfort of our own home offices. Sorry, I had to repeat myself. ;-)

Perhaps you’re interested in game programming, and if so – I cannot recommend the newly released book on game programming patterns, by Bob Nystrom. He published it on his own website, it packs so many resources on game development that you’ll be busy for quite some time.

Remember, these days we’re dealing with new platforms and technology like the Oculus Rift, which is opening up many more doors to professional developers, designers and engineers. If you think that game design is your calling, and you like the numbers that you can earn from such a career, then why not go ahead and give it a try?

Valve and It’s Decision to Stop Offering Paid Mods

Valve and It’s Decision to Stop Offering Paid Mods

If you have been living under a rock for the past week or so, it’s understandable that you won’t know some of the recent news scoop regarding Valve’s decision to partner up with Bethesda and begin offering paid mods as an option for Skyrim players. As it turned out, this was one of the worst decisions that Valve has made in the recent years.

It all started with a small announcement from the team behind Bethesda, it was an announcement meant to explain that the new steam workshop feature would be something that they were willing to ‘try out’ for a little while, but you and I both know that if it didn’t turn out as the massive flop that it did, they would’ve kept it nevertheless.

Community Backlash

Instantly, there was a massive backlash from the gaming community as to why has Steam chosen to go down that route, with communities across sites such as Reddit doing the best they can to spread the message that this is not okay.

Within a few hours, the Change.org petition had reached over 50,000 supporters, which later had a total of 130,000 supporters who claimed victory!

Gabe Newell, the CEO of Valve, quickly created an IAmA thread on the Gaming sub-reddit, which has gotten nearly 20,000 comments at this point. The real value here is that Gabe chose to be open to the gaming community, and actually listened to what people had to say, something he’s been known for around the community.

The Internet Wins

As quickly as all this had happened, and as much as information there is to be shared and discussed, the internet clearly had the winning hand in this matter.

As of today, Valve has officially withdrawn their idea of a mods workshop, and have claimed that it has cost them up to $2 million dollars in getting all the emails and complaints resolved alone, while the workshop only yielded a modest $10,000 revenue during its inception.

A lot of people seem to have lost their trust in the glorious leader that Gabe Newell is, but it also goes to show how transparent he can be, and how he took the time to connect with the community, and resolve the matter in a way that was most appropriate for everyone — in this case, abandoning it all together.
2 Powerful Techniques for Game Quality Analysis

2 Powerful Techniques for Game Quality Analysis

A game design and development studio offers an array of services. The success of a game depends on multiple factors ranging from application design, level design, texturing, modeling, animation and game overall design. But the most important factors which help improve scalability and sales of the game are user interface and user-experience.

Games are essentially a digital product which will be placed in the market for sales. So analyzing games for quality, user experience and user-friendliness is a vital process.

A. GamePlay

Specific way in which players interact with the game. It is basically a pattern defined through the games rules, connection between the players, challenges or levels, and overcoming them, story or plot, and players connection with it. (Source: Wikipedia)

How it should be analyzed:

  • Play the Game Extensively – Familiarizing yourself with the game by playing and replaying again and again brings new insights about the game. You will be able to analyze the level of difficulty and elements you have used.
  • List Your Analysis While Playing – While playing take notes of the things which are against user-friendliness, and need improvements. List out the thing which you don’t like, things which were unexpected, games relevancy with other available games etc.
  • Cheat Codes and Walk-thoughts – Use cheat codes and walkthrough videos to understand the plot and relations.

B. Game Mechanics

Game mechanics is the relationships of different game elements like agents, objects, with the game. All together game mechanics defines the set of rules which works behind the scene. All of these together defines the game as a rule-based system, specifying what there is, how things are behaving and how a player can interact with the game world.

How it should be analyzed:
Hence as a game developer it is necessary to analyze the game mechanics which involves virtual items in the game.
  • Game world rules – Different models the game tries to simulate, how the game world reacts to the rules of the game.
Does the game offers a tutorial to educate the gamers and if yes? then how effect it is.
  • Control schemes; control peripherals – It is very important to analyze how players are interacting with the games i.e., through typing in the commands or using a mouse or game controlling devices for it. Are there different ways to configure your controls?
  • Audio-visual and graphic elements – Does the audio-video elements complements to the fiction of the game or not.
So that your audience have fun playing with the game!
